This is the first we have seen this particular cut of labradorite and it is a very appealing shape and size. Easily fits in a pocket and feels good in the hand. We hand picked every one of these discs to ensure that each one has a brilliant "flash" on the majority of at least one side.
Labradorite is considered to be like a shield and a mirror. It protects us from negative thoughts, feelings, and influences. And it reveals our soul essence, our hidden powers and our gifts. Author Harmony writes that it protects the aura and helps keep one's aura clear, ballances, and free of energy leaks. The "flash" of labradorite is called labradorescence and it isn't always immediately apparent. We like this mysterious aspect of the stone. Sometimes it requires spending time rotating and tilting the stone under different light to reveal the hidden shimmer. Also, you'll notice that in some of these photos, the flash only appears on a fraction of the surface of the stone. In these cases, the rest of the surface usually has flash also, but it's revealed at a different angle.
Labradorescence is often blue or gold, but may also appear in green ranges, red, coppery, and magenta.
